Timothy P. Hanrahan, Blowtorch, can sometimes give the impression that he is afraid of fire. Often when he enters a new building, one of the first things he notices are the nearest fire exits. Cigarette smoke irritates him deeply. And you can be sure that your smoke detector will always be in good working order. Make no mistake, he's not afraid of fire. On the contrary, he has enormous respect for his power and strength. He continues to refine his knowledge of structural and chemical engineering to the point where he is perhaps the only person qualified for all military flamethrowers, incendiary weapons, and heat projection devices. He knows how to harness the power of the flame to its fullest potential.
